I think most of these videos are somehow fake because it's really difficult to make any revenue from a solo dev game developed by a single developer. Yeah, if the game was a hit, and it's really rare, the developer can make 1k$ - 3k$ max. However, I see a lot of youtubers saying that their game earned 35k$, and the game itself is very easy to develop and not that much attractive. So yeah, when you say hey budd come and see someone made 100k$ of a game he made, all I will see is that this is a fake video to attract viewers. If you really wanna help your community, please try focusing on marketing and its various campaigns on different platforms. How to calculate your budget. And how much an indie dev actually expects from his game. How do I create a promotional video for his game, the various techniques of video editing your game play to publish a video trailer for your game to attract more users. Also how to use firebase sdk and google sdk to create google ads campaigns per install?. All of these tutorials is actually how you get more revenue, whether to publish your game on steam or mobile platforms or both.

Is it just me thats struggling on where to start? Like I know I wanna be an Indie game dev, and, although I dont know everything, I have a pretty good understanding on coding, but i just dont know on where to start, idk what game i wanna make, i dont wanna go into a survival basis yet because thats really hard, sooo puzzle? but then what? what unique mechanic is going to make my game standout? what graphics would it use? poly? should it be a fast-paced game or should it lock you in a room until you figure it out? so many questions, ive used so many idea generators, and theme generators, but nothing strikes out for me, and I dont know how to kickstart an idea for a game, i hope i explained this right, and could maybe get some help with this

Unreal's modularity is kinda fake modularity, sure it looks fun, but becomes an absolute mess when making something complex. Good-ish for AAA not a good thing for indies/AA

I know this is an old video but a longer time ago I noticed that Tim Ruswick, while not making content on his own channel, has done a podcast with Rick from gamedev tv. Those were interesting to listen to too. Back when he made videos, I really liked those for general gamedev and marketing advice. And for Dani, at least he still comments on youtube videos sometimes, so he's still active. Just hope he's alright because to me it seems like he really burned out with how much she worked and how pressuring the expectations for his game are. I also appreciate your honesty here!
